Our History
Today, ELBEX is an ISO certified manufacturer of silicone and rubber extrusions. Our capabilities include the ability to produce a large selection of profile designs in a dense or sponge material. We frequently utilize materials such as silicone, EPDM, polyisoprene, neoprene, natural rubber and several others.
But it took us time to build the reputation and experience we have today as an industry leader.
Our founder, Edward L. Bittle, incorporated ELBEX in 1991 after he started Seal Master 17 years earlier. Mr. Bittle first started Seal Master — a custom rubber seal manufacturer — after decades in the Akron rubber industry.
It was during that time when he saw the opportunity to leap into another rubber market — the manufacturing of rubber extrusions and custom rubber profile extrusions. From there, ELBEX was born.
